Highlands Center for Faculty Initiatives

Planning for the Conference on the Detection and Treatment of Child Sexual Abuse continues. Data base of registrants under development. (~30 conference registrations have already been received.) Materials from the Crime Victim Center of Erie County have been delivered to HCFI for the conference folders. Mailing for Latin American Studies Conference sent to ~500+.

American Education Week planning continues. Programming finalized for the 100 Years of Teaching at Edinboro luncheon (Dr. Wally Jewel, Prof. Richard Bevevino and Dr. Dawn Snodgrass presenters) and the Salute to HCFI Leaders. Invitations prepared, packaged and mailed to all faculty and past leaders.

Planning for the RAKE project continues. Program was advertised on the Edinboro News Network, the Borough of Edinboro TV station (Coaxial Cable Channel 3), and was mentioned in three articles in the Erie Times-News. Ad to appear in the next Spectator.

First Year Faculty Experience committee meeting planned.

Receiving initial feedback re: Halloween Treat Week

CETP-PA:

Budget meeting held with N. Kebede and T. Villella. Budget was finalized for the rollover funds.

Mr. Vince Valicenti of ASSET, Inc. has agreed to serve as a speaker at an all-team meeting on November 13.

EVE:

Character Education Conference announcement distributed via email to Superintendents of local school districts and Edinboro graduate students. Conference posters were delivered to schools via Edinboro student teachers and education faculty.

Fall 2003 Values Newsletter is being finalized.

Institute meeting held.

IIC:

Meeting planned for November 13.

UTL:

UTL members met with the Provost.
